Please read this first: GamlaBazaar is a student project, not a company. We ask that you do not enter real personal information, real addresses or real payment details anywhere on this site. This policy describes how the site behaves technically, and is written to the standard a real store would be held to.
What this site collects
Analytics data
This site runs Google Analytics 4, because integrating web analytics is an explicit requirement of the coursework. GA4 collects, in aggregate and without identifying you personally:
- Pages viewed, time on page and navigation path
- Approximate location (city level), derived from IP and not stored in raw form
- Device type, browser and screen size
- Referral source — search, social or direct
- E-commerce events: product views, add-to-cart actions and simulated checkouts
This data is used only to analyse site performance for the assignment. It is never sold, shared with third parties, or used commercially.
Information you type in
If you complete a checkout or a contact form, WordPress stores what you entered in the site database. Because this is a demonstration site, we would prefer you did not enter anything real. Any data submitted will be deleted when the project is assessed.
Cookies
- WooCommerce cookies — remember your cart between pages. Required for the store to function.
- Google Analytics cookies — distinguish returning visitors. Expire after 2 years.
- WordPress session cookies — only set if you log in.
You can block cookies in your browser settings. The cart will stop working; everything else will be fine.
What this site does not collect
- No payment information — there is no payment gateway connected to this site
- No card, UPI, or bank details are requested at any stage
- No data is sold or shared with advertisers
- No third-party advertising or remarketing pixels are installed
Your rights
You may ask us to delete anything you submitted, or to confirm what is held. Write to us via the contact page. Because this is a coursework site, the entire database is deleted at the end of the assessment period in any case.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the project develops. The version shown here is always current.
